Dementia Support Australia Comes to Orange
Dementia Support Australia extends an invitation to family carers of people living with dementia and health and aged care professionals, to attend tailored information events in Orange and surrounding areas on October 15, 2025.
An estimated 141,800 people are living with dementia in New South Wales, many of them in regional areas. Two out of three people living with dementia are in the community – usually at home – and 54% of people in residential aged care are living with dementia.
Dementia Support Australia (DSA) have specially developed local dementia support events, which aim to provide carers with insightful information and practical advice from dementia experts.
“These events are for carers who want to know how to manage changing behaviours in a person living with dementia, while providing a safe and supportive environment for that person,” said Executive General Manager for DSA, Mark Peacock.
DSA’s dementia consultants and specialists will share practical insights on mood and behaviour changes, carer well-being, relationship-based approaches in dementia care and when, and how, to seek help.
“We urge carers in the community in Orange to join us on October 15, for the valuable information, tools and resources we offer, and also because it is helpful to share your experiences with other carers,” Mark Peacock said.
“So much is changing so quickly in the field of treating and managing complex dementia, these events are really valuable for hearing updates from our dementia specialists and raising practical issues with those experts.”
